Perception

Own the perception stack — detection, tracking, 6D pose, scene understanding — that lets our humanoids read cluttered industrial environments.

At Athenyx Robotics, we are building the intelligence stack for industrial humanoid robotics. We move robots beyond rigid automation toward adaptive, learning-based systems that hold up in real industrial environments — combining robot learning, perception and simulation with direct access to industrial use cases and data.

This role owns how our humanoids see the world: geometry, semantics, and enough context to act under clutter, occlusion and changing lighting.

The work

  • Develop perception pipelines including detection, tracking and 6D pose estimation for real-world robotic applications.
  • Work with modern approaches such as foundation models (VLM / VLA) to enable scene understanding and reasoning.
  • Improve robustness and generalization of perception systems in dynamic industrial environments.
  • Integrate perception into end-to-end robotic systems combining sensing, reasoning and action.
  • Work with real and synthetic data to improve model performance and scalability.
  • Support deployment, evaluation and iteration on real robotic systems.

About you

  • Degree (Bachelor, Master or PhD) in robotics, computer vision or a related field with strong foundations in perception or machine learning.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern ML workflows such as training and evaluating vision models.
  • Experience in areas such as 3D vision, pose estimation, multi-view systems or sensor fusion.
  • Interest in real-world robotic systems and motivation to move beyond isolated models toward deployed systems.
  • Willingness to work across the stack and contribute wherever needed in a small, fast-moving team.
  • Experience with foundation models or multimodal learning.
  • Familiarity with simulation and synthetic data pipelines.
  • Exposure to robotic manipulation or system integration.
  • Work on real robotic systems in industrial environments with direct impact on deployment practices.
  • Close collaboration with industry partners and access to real-world use cases, data and systems.
  • High ownership and responsibility from day one in a small, highly capable, execution-focused team.
  • Flexible working hours and open, collaborative culture with strong focus on building and learning.
  • Opportunity to help shape a new generation of AI-driven robotics systems from the ground up.
