Robotics Engineer - Manipulation & Grasping
Who We Are
At Athenyx Robotics, we are building the intelligence stack for industrial humanoid robotics.
Our goal is to enable robots to move beyond rigid automation towards adaptive, learning-based systems that can operate across real-world industrial environments. We combine advances in robot learning, perception, and simulation with direct access to industrial use cases, data, and systems.
We are not building isolated demos - we are developing a platform for AI-native robotics, where perception, reasoning, and action are tightly integrated.
Overview
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer focusing on Manipulation & Grasping to enable robots to physically interact with the real world in a robust and reliable way.
You will work at the intersection of perception, planning, and control to build systems that can handle complex physical interactions in industrial environments.
As part of an early team, you are expected to operate with a T-shaped profile and contribute across the stack.
Your Responsibilities
Manipulation & Interaction
- Develop manipulation pipelines including grasping, motion generation, and task execution
- Work on contact-rich manipulation and interaction with real-world objects
- Integrate perception, planning, and control for robust task execution
System Integration & Deployment
- Deploy manipulation solutions on real robotic systems and validate performance in industrial environments
- Optimize robustness and reliability under real-world constraints
- Collaborate across perception, learning, and systems to build end-to-end capabilities
What You Bring
- Degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in robotics or a related field, with strong foundations in manipulation, planning, or control
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ and experience working with robotic systems
- Experience with manipulation, motion planning, or grasping
- Interest in real-world robotic interaction and building systems that operate reliably outside the lab
- Willingness to work across the stack and contribute beyond a single subsystem
Nice to Have
- Experience with contact-rich manipulation
- Familiarity with perception systems or grasp detection models
- Exposure to simulation or learning-based approaches
What We Offer
- Work on real robotic systems in industrial environments with direct impact on how robotics is deployed in practice
- Close collaboration with industry partners and access to real-world use cases, data, and systems
- High ownership and responsibility from day one in a small, highly capable, and execution-focused team
- Flexible working hours and an open, collaborative culture with a strong focus on building and learning
- The opportunity to help shape a new generation of AI-driven robotics systems from the ground up
