Robotics Engineer - Simulation & Synthetic Data
Who We Are
At Athenyx Robotics, we are building the intelligence stack for industrial humanoid robotics.
Our goal is to enable robots to move beyond rigid automation towards adaptive, learning-based systems that can operate across real-world industrial environments. We combine advances in robot learning, perception, and simulation with direct access to industrial use cases, data, and systems.
We are not building isolated demos - we are developing a platform for AI-native robotics, where perception, reasoning, and action are tightly integrated.
Overview
We are seeking a Robotics Engineer focusing on Simulation & Synthetic Data to build scalable environments for training and evaluating intelligent robotic systems.
You will work at the intersection of simulation, data generation, and learning, enabling the development of generalizable robotic capabilities.
As part of an early team, you are expected to operate with a T-shaped profile and contribute across the stack.
Your Responsibilities
Simulation & Synthetic Data
- Develop and maintain simulation environments for robotic systems and tasks
- Generate synthetic data to support perception and learning pipelines
- Model robots, sensors, and environments with a focus on realism and scalability
Learning Support & Integration
- Enable Sim2Real transfer by aligning simulation with real-world conditions
- Collaborate closely with learning and perception engineers to support training and evaluation workflows
- Contribute to data pipelines and system integration across the stack
What You Bring
- Degree (Bachelor, Master, or PhD) in robotics, simulation, or a related field, with a strong understanding of physical systems
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience working with simulation or data generation workflows
- Experience with simulation environments or physics-based modeling
- Interest in enabling scalable training and bridging simulation with real-world systems
- Willingness to work across the stack and collaborate closely with AI and robotics engineers
Nice to Have
- Experience with synthetic data pipelines
- Familiarity with perception or learning workflows
- Exposure to real robotic systems
What We Offer
- Work on real robotic systems in industrial environments with direct impact on how robotics is deployed in practice
- Close collaboration with industry partners and access to real-world use cases, data, and systems
- High ownership and responsibility from day one in a small, highly capable, and execution-focused team
- Flexible working hours and an open, collaborative culture with a strong focus on building and learning
- The opportunity to help shape a new generation of AI-driven robotics systems from the ground up
